Welcome to First Commission Sprint

This page explains everything before you touch anything else. Read it once, all the way through, before opening any of the other files.

The big picture, in plain terms

You picked an affiliate offer, something you'll earn a commission promoting. Most people at this point just post a link and hope. That almost never works, and here's why: if someone sees your post and doesn't buy right away, they're gone forever. You never get a second chance with them.

The fix is a "bridge page." It's a simple page you create that sits between your post and the affiliate's actual sales page. Instead of sending people straight to the affiliate offer, you send them to your bridge page first. It offers something small and useful in exchange for their email. Now, even if they don't buy today, you can reach them again tomorrow. That's the entire method this sprint is built around.

Do you need any technical skill for this?

A little, but nothing you can't handle in a few minutes, and you have two options depending on your comfort level.

Option A: No-code

Use a free page-builder tool to create your bridge page visually, no code, no file editing. Systeme.io has a free plan that can build a simple opt-in page like this in a few clicks, and it also handles collecting the emails for you automatically. Do it yourself

Option B: The template file

If you're comfortable editing text in a file and uploading pages (WordPress, your own hosting, or similar), use 02-bridge-page-swipe.html instead. It's a real webpage already built for you, you just replace the placeholder text with your own words. Full instructions are inside that file.

Not sure which to pick? If the words "hosting," "HTML," or "uploading a file" make you nervous, go with Option A. If you've ever built a website or edited a webpage before, Option B will be faster.

What "fill in the brackets" actually means

A few of your files have text in [square brackets]. That's not broken, it's a placeholder showing you exactly what to type instead. Here's a real example from the bridge page template:

Before (what you'll see)

[Your offer's outcome as a headline, e.g. "Stop Guessing Which X Actually Works"]

After (what you'd actually type, if you were promoting a budgeting app)

Same idea everywhere you see brackets: read the instruction inside them, then replace the whole bracketed phrase with your own real words. Delete the brackets themselves too, they're not part of the final text.
